Is a tithe required of each member?
Some churches teach this.
It does produce more money.
That is taken from the old law,
and is not taught in the New Testament.
Jesus talking to the leaders of the Jews, (still under the law)
- " Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!
- for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin,
- and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith:. . . ."
