Below taken from The Baptist Pillar

True Baptists have never believed a little prayer can save anyone.

We believe as Jesus said in John 6.44,

“No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him:

and I will raise him up at the last day.”

The Father has to draw, has to work in the heart of man and bring them to salvation.

But here’s the difference,

we believe that God wants and desires all to be saved as found in 2 Peter 3.9,

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness;
but is longsuffering to us-ward,
not willing that any should perish,
but that all should come to repentance.”

We believe as John 3.16 says,

“For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.”

Whosoever, and that sure does not mean they all will,

few there be that find it.

If all cannot be saved and there is a limited atonement,

why then are we told in Mark 16.

15 “...Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”

Why, if they do not have a choice?
