Why is it promoted so much today?

It produces more money.

Valid Support

-- Is it 10% of take home pay??

Everyone knows how much to give

-- Do not need the Holy Spirit to lead him

-- Even the lost can put in much money

Pride - Self glory

-- Look what I did

Self Justification

--I did my part, nothing else needed

--I did my part, now you do yours

Fear - God will get you

many are weak and sickly among you,

and many sleep.

God's lotto, winner every time

-- Play on greed

. . . if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing,

that there shall not be room enough to receive it. . . .

2 And all nations shall call you blessed: . . .

The widow gave all that she had

all her living

And there came a certain poor widow,
