GALLANT FAITH
Text: Hebrews 11: 4-29.
Introduction:
A. Gallant means: brave, valiant, heroic, noble, courag us, dauntless, fearless.
B. In this essage, our hero is Moses.
1. He ~ born under sentence of death.
2. His y uth was in the royal palace of Pharaoh.
C. Often t' e wards of royalty are either grossly spoiled, or strictly disciplined and trained for leadersip.
D. The Bible declares that Moses was a man of great and unIUal faith.
E. Gallant, with the synonyms above listed, best describ s Moses' faith.
MOSES E~BITED GALLANT FAITH IN THE THINGS HE REFUS ·D.
A. "When11 came to years."
1. An i' e when he could determine his own course in life.
2. It appears this was when he was about forty years old.
B. "He refpsed to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughtS~'"
1. EvidFntly Moses had known all along who he was.
2. He rpay have chaffed and bristled every time he was intrdduced as "the son of Pharaoh's daughter."
C. Finally,jthe day came when he could demand that he no I nger be so addressed.
D. People ith faith in God should refuse some things.
1. The perishing things of the world.
2. The ways of the world.
3. The songs and amusements of the world.

A. "Choosin rather to suffer affliction with the people of God."
1. As t e son of Pharaoh's daughter, Moses had eve . g money, power and position could provide. ~ut h wasn't happy.
2. But, ow could he be happy identified with those miser ble Hebrew slaves?
B. Moses' ch ice was deliberate.
1. The s rvant of God cannot be happy indulging the sinful leasures of Egypt (world).
2. "The p easures of Egypt" were:
a. S' W, vulgar, idolatrous, degrading, unholy.
b. T ey provided no lasting satisfaction; they were o y for a season.
c. en the flesh can no longer laugh and thrill in su h, what then?
3. The w ld declares Moses a fool, but those who have like ant faith applaud his wise resolution.
ITI. MOSES EXHI ITED GALLANT FAITH IN TIlE THINGS
HE VALUED, s 26. Esteem means to value highly, attach great importanc to.
A. Moses val ed suffering afflictions with the people of God gre ter worth and joy than the pleasures of Egypt.
B. He "estee ed the reproach of Christ greater riches than the t asures of Egypt."
C. Moses'gall nt faith enabled him to look beyond the fleeting pI asures of Egypt to the eternal rewards.

IV. MOSES E BITED GALLANTFAITH IN THE THINGS
HE WAS LLING TO FORSAKE, vs 27.
A. Let us ook at some things he forsook.
1. His royal name: "Sonof Pharaoh's daughter."
2. His royal title and heirship to the throne of Egypt.
3. The comforts of life in the palace.
4. The security of a prince of Egypt.
B. Notice orne things he endured for the sake of his faith.
1. "Th wrath of the king."
2. Rej tion by his own Hebrew brethren, Exodus 2:14.
3. His ery life was threatened, Exodus2:15.
C. We ma ask, "Moses, why did you do it?" Answer: He could s e the wrath and power of Pharaoh, but by faith h looked beyond that and could see, "Him who is invisible."
1. The God of Abraham,Isaac and Jacob.
2. By ith he could see Christ and the rich rewards of thos who worship Him.
D. "Moses, was it worth it?" The answer must be a resoun ing, "Yes!"
V. MOSES E IBITED GALLANT FAITH IN HIS RE- SPONSE T· THE DMNE COMMAND, verses 28 and 29.
A. He and his people kept the pass-ever.
B. They"p ed through the Red Sea as by dry land."
C. The se was salvation to the Israelites who had faith i God, but death to the Egyptians who believe not.
Conclusion:
A. You, t 0, can exhibit gallant, daring, heroic, courag ous, dauntless and fearless faith.
