Ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin

Jesus faulted the Pharisees for giving attention to small things

like tithing mint, dill, and cummin while ignoring the weightier matters of the law

Matthew 23.23 - - Luke 11.42.

"2 But woe unto you, Pharisees!

for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs,

and pass over judgment and the love of God:

these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone."

They were still under the law.

They were required to tithe.
