Idolatry is the worship of an idol or cult image,

being a physical image, such as a statue, or a person in place of God.

Leviticus 26.1

  • Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image,
  • neither rear you up a standing image,
  • neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land,
  • to bow down unto it:
  • for I am the LORD your God.


The definition of idolatry has been a contested topic

1 Corinthians 5

11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company,
if any man that is called a brother be .... an idolater ....
with such an one no not to eat.


Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.




If one really wanted to hurt a man

he could start a rumor

that his bride is committing fornication

That is what you are doing

when you say you have idols in the Church

The Church is the Bride of Christ

and will never have idols.
